What do you do for Remarkable Practice?
My main job is to make sure that the Business Bitesize report and supporting tools are written, prepared and delivered to all our clients every other month. This takes up the majority of my time working to a meticulous checklist!
I also prepare all the Business Bitesize resources to accompany each edition, this includes Blogs, Facebook and LinkedIn posts and more tweets than anyone could ever wish for… Again all done to a meticulous list.
My other jobs include blog and social media delivery on behalf of Remarkable Practice and delivery of Marketing Services – whilst constantly providing checklists and schedules for any task that is longer than 3 jobs!
I am a lover of lists, a lover of checklists and a general lover of organisation and order!!! Not a control freak at all!!
Favourite song of all time?
REM - Losing My Religion. One of my all time favourite bands and I got to see them at the Milton Keynes Bowl many years ago - an amazing concert and the song still reminds me of that day.
Name a famous person that you have met.
When I was 16 I worked in an antique shop and a gentlemen in a very nice sports car came into the shop and purchased several large pieces of furniture. He asked me if I knew who he was, which I did not. It was not until the following day when we delivered them to his house that I realised he was Timothy Dalton who at the time was James Bond, the furniture was for a room with wall to wall images of himself in various James Bond poses.

Seeing the positive impact of our work on the lives of hard-working accountants

Paul Shrimpling
What do you do for Remarkable Practice?
You’ll find me either consulting with accountants to help them grow their firms or presenting to accountants for the same reason. A few times a year I present to business owners – on behalf of the firms I work with. I especially enjoy presenting the power of KPIs because it helps transform the results of any business. When I’m office based I do what I can to help the Remarkable Practice team develop and promote our products and services for accountants who want to grow.

What is your favourite edition of Business Bitesize?
I’m passionate about so many of the 4-page reports it’s hard to choose just one so I’m choosing two because I can!
First, change is the thing that keeps all our businesses relevant so leading and managing change is a vital skill so I choose ‘Winning Influence’ first because of the Delancey Street story about turning 16,000 repeat-offending gangland criminals into worthwhile members of society – if they can change we can all change!
Second I choose the ‘Magical Questions’ edition because the skill of asking great questions helps unlock all the potential of all our people and all our clients. Did you know there’s a question hierarchy that you should be aware of?

What do you do for Remarkable Practice?
Digital marketing wizardry is my game. I keep up to date with current tools and software and turn it into practical hands on stuff that we use for Remarkable Practice marketing but also we share with our clients to help them with their online marketing. I also get involved in the strategic side of Remarkable Practice to develop the long term game plan and then work out how we can deliver it. Most important thing of all though is I love working here and I love my job and the team.
Favourite song of all time?
Malaika - a Swahili song. I first heard it when the Kenyan Boys Choir sang it and we are now singing it at my choir - its beautiful.
Name a famous person that you have met.
I have never met any one famous... that's a bit of a shame. If I could choose who it would be I'd say David Attenborough - he is my hero.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Loads of things - a farm secretary, a sewing teacher, a scientist, a small business owner and on occasions a lawyer! Pull all them together and what have you got? Errrm a no nonsense practical and creative person with a technical focus who likes to get the bottom of things...
My favourite place in the world is...
Our kitchen table at dinner time when we have a house full of family and friends.
What are you most proud of?
That's easy, my three kids
What is your favourite edition of Business Bitesize?
The edition about hiring superstars is my top choice - this is one of those quick reads that provides you with a complete 'how to' practical checklist that takes all the risk out of recruiting. It's pure common sense and it's brilliant - I urge you to read it - it'll take just a few minutes. Make yourself a cuppa and get a copy of it below.
